Bristol Palin exploiting her child for a reality show...

[IMG][/IMG]

http://www.politico.com/blogs/click/2012/05/coming-soon-bristol-palins-reality-show-124204.html

The article is basically a promo for her reality show called "Life's A Tripp" which chronicles her life with her young son, Tripp. If the show did not involve her young son, I would not care a bit one way or the other.

I have huge problems with these reality shows about Kate and her 6 kids, the Duggers and their 19 kids, and other reality shows which requires them to exploit children in order to make a buck. If it weren't for the kids, nobody would watch. No one would care. So they need the kids.

Bristol Palin is no different. She is exploiting her son for financial gain. If it were not for him, no one would give her the time of day. There would be no reality show.

The apple does not fall far from the rotten apple tree. She learned child exploitation from that worthless mother of hers.

This is pure child exploitation and I dare anyone to say it is not.

Edited to add: This is child abuse, IMO.

okay - that was snarky. And unproven, but . . .

there was definitely something weird about that whole deal. Not sure what exactly, but I'm pretty damn sure it's not as presented.

Okay I'm braced for the onslaught. . .

Or making that that other reality show with Kyle Massey? Or is this the same show? I'm confuzzled.

Bristol rented out the Arizona house and built a new one across the lake from her mother in Alaska. In her new show she'll be living with her pipeline-worker boyfriend and baby in a "trial marriage" situation. So much for abstinence.

My question would be: is he gaining at all for this or is Mom keeping all the proceeds and profits? I know the laws are pretty specific on how earnings for child actors are dealt with, but would that apply to a reality show as well?

Child labor laws apply to kids working on actual movie and TV sets. It gets vague when it comes to reality shows. The same rules do not apply. I'm not sure how the money is handled, but the damage to kids on reality shows is much different than on movies and TV's.

The kids on reality shows get to the point where they do not know the difference between reality and TV. It's all blurred when TV cameras are present.

he's going to be treated much like a child actor, but she's going to get to keep anything the series makes?

That's revolting.

A kid is not going to know the difference. It gives them a skewed version of life.

But, yeah, the parents get to keep the dough.

I doubt Alaska has laws at all relating to reality shows. Have there been any there?

To be honest, I NEVER hear anything about her from people I personally know on the right. However, I hear about her ALL THE TIME from all the people I know on the left (and shit tons of people here).

WE need to ignore her and much of this will go away.

Bristol is even less interesting than her mother. The Palins are like a train wreck you can look away from. Lifetime must have been really desperate to fill a timeslot...
