Chilling New Poll Finds GOP Fascism Is Very Real

Last edited Wed Sep 16, 2015, 07:35 PM - Edit history (1)

A shocking number of Republicans say they can conceive of a situation in which they'd sympathize with a military coup.

[snip]

According to this new YouGov poll, these same patriotic Republicans still love the military passionately but are no longer attached to that moldy old concept of civilian control:

“Republicans (43%) are more than twice as likely as Democrats (20%) to say that they could conceive of a situation in which they would support a military coup in the United States.”

More to the point, only 32 percent of Republicans state unequivocally that they would not conceive of a situation in which they would support a military coup. One would be tempted to think this is simply a matter of partisanship, but there is no evidence that Democrats have ever entertained the notion of a military coup, no matter who was president, even one as widely loathed as George W. Bush. It’s as “un-American” as it gets.

For years the right has accused the opposition of being unpatriotic and failing to properly love America. And here they are, endorsing something that’s only seen in Banana Republics and totalitarian police states.

the black guy or the woman. I truly wished I had a woman candidate at this point that I could support. If she comes out on top I will support her with all the bluster I can muster but only IF.

I've dreamed of a Woman President all my life and I'm a 67 year old mostly white guy. So thats been a long ass time my friends.

Propaganda only works if you can control the message.

The internet is our friend. I think it will help to free us from the chains of tyranny. We have to prevent tptb from fucking with it.

Facts & Figures: 43 Percent of Republicans Think Obama Is Muslim

Twenty-nine percent of Americans and 43 percent of Republicans believe President Obama is a Muslim, according to a CNN/ORC poll released on Sunday. And 20 percent of Americans think he was born outside the United States.

My best guess is it shows the RW extremist propaganda is working on 43% of Republicans. Which is pretty scary to imagine.

as discovering that food from Waffle House contains cholesterol.

I'm not bashing Waffle House, I love their patty melts and my hashbrowns smothered and covered, I'm just not under the assumption that it is health food. I go in there with eyes wide open that if I ate it every day instead of once every two or three months I'd be having bypass surgery.

As the white demographic loses it majority some are not going to take it lying down. Then we will see who really loves this country and who doesn't.
