Wall Street Journal - "Obama spending binge never happened" (GREAT CHART!)

Wall Street Journal - "Obama spending binge never happened"
by NewDealer

...From the Wall Journal's Market Watch column today comes this.

Of all the falsehoods told about President Barack Obama, the biggest whopper is the one about his reckless spending spree. (snip) Almost everyone believes that Obama has presided over a massive increase in federal spending, an “inferno” of spending that threatens our jobs, our businesses and our children’s future. Even Democrats seem to think it’s true. But it didn’t happen. Although there was a big stimulus bill under Obama, federal spending is rising at the slowest pace since Dwight Eisenhower brought the Korean War to an end in the 1950s.

Even hapless Herbert Hoover managed to increase spending more than Obama has...

SNIP

...Over Obama’s four budget years, federal spending is on track to rise from $3.52 trillion to $3.58 trillion, an annualized increase of just 0.4%.

There has been no huge increase in spending under the current president, despite what you hear...

President Obama is also responsible for what happened in 2008. So those job losses and spending increases are his fault, too!

Romney/Republicons are now focusing more and more on the Obama deficits and that he is to fault for them.
This will kill Obama in November if we dont have the facts.

I remember the "liberally-biased media" going "what press conference?" when John Kerry said that Bush had said he wasn't that concerned about Osama bin Laden.

No tape, no mention in the "l.b.m." about how that specific day was no longer available on the White House site ... one of the few times George W. Bush had a press conference where he fielded QUESTIONS ...

As would-be president Mitt Romney tells it: “I will lead us out of this debt and spending inferno.”

Almost everyone believes that Obama has presided over a massive increase in federal spending, an “inferno” of spending that threatens our jobs, our businesses and our children’s future. Even Democrats seem to think it’s true.

I never thought he was throwing money around, but less than anyone back to Ike.
I wasnt aware of that.

We HAVE to make sure he is re-elected

Great ammo for the screamers that say he is "bankrupting us"

God, the comments on THIS story.

the other day on the CATO institute site, of all places.

http://www.cato.org/publications/white-paper/overkill-rise-paramilitary-police-raids-america

And was VERY surprised that any sort of police criticism was allowed there.
But it is a very insightful paper and gives
damning evidence that SWAT units are being used incorrectly and they are frequently
killing innocent people by mistake.

From the CATO institute??!!
it'd rather old, but nevertheless...

What does Rupert want Romney to lose? This is one of his main campaign speeches, that Obama is out of control with his spending - an inferno - yada, yada, yada.

I'm beginning to think that the really right wingers want him to lose so they can run a real right winger in 2016. If Romney wins they won't be able to run a different candidate...so, I wonder if Santorium and Paul and some others are sabotaging Romney quietly and under the radar?

I'm still thinking Jeb and, please be kind and I don't care how old she will be and how many times she's said NO but if her party calls and they might, Hillary will do her duty in 2016.

that Obama is increasing Federal spending at a record pace. After all, the debt has increased by about $5 trillion since he took office. Doesn't that mean he is spending more than anyone in history? No, not necessarily. We have the deficit and the increased debt because we don't have the revenues to pay for the present spending, not that we have increased spending that much. In fact, Federal spending is increasing at the slowest rate in almost 60 years.
