DENVER (CBS4) – More than a million people have tuned in to video of a dispute over a parking space in Downtown Denver.

In the video, a woman wearing pink spandex hangs on to a reserving SUV and screams while trying to hold her ground as a male friend tries to park nose first.

The incident happened on the weekend of Sept 4 at 15th and Larimer streets.

So, who’s in the wrong? Denver Public Works says the woman standing in the spot has no right to block anyone from parking there. She’s also wrong a second time when her friend tries parking nose-first. The only way a driver can legally hold a spot in Denver is with a paid permit.

The lady blocking the spot is too dumb for words. And she will be famous pretty soon.

The driver should have just kept backing up slowly. She would have moved.

Is an abomination.

You have effectively summed up 'Merica in ten words or less. It's perfectly succinct.

A road rage incident over a Walmart handicap parking spot that landed a woman in the hospital could send another to prison.

Kezia Perkins, 32, and Janis Gotz, 72, were each angling for the space in front of a Greenfield Walmart back in February. Store video shows Perkins — who did not have a handicap tag on her car — had the first shot but couldn't turn sharply enough to make it into the space.

As Perkins backed up for a better angle, Gotz — who did have a handicap tag — came from the other direction and took the spot.

Perkins got out of her car and yelled at Gotz through her window, and minutes later, according to prosecutors, chest-bumped the older woman as she walked toward the store, sending her to the slushy pavement. The fall broke Gotz's left leg and hip.

After a trial in Milwaukee County Circuit Court, a jury on Friday convicted Perkins of felony aggravated battery. She faces up to three years in prison at her sentencing Nov. 9.

Earlier in the day, Perkins told the jury that she was upset that Gotz had taken her spot, after she had indicated she was trying to park there. But she said she only meant to tell Gotz she was rude when Gotz made racial comments to her and suggested she had no business parking in a handicap spot. Perkins is black; Gotz is white.

Assistant District Attorney Michael Lonski asked if Perkins didn't just make up the racial claim to gain sympathy with jurors, several of whom are African-American.

Anybody who lives in a city and drives knows the car/vehicle reversing into the spot has the right to it.

But the Puerto Rican lady standing in the spot started screaming I hit her with my car. The malls cops called the real cops...I gave the crazy lady $100 to drop it....

Never thought someone in the US would do something like that! Maybe PR should become a state. lol

They will tell you to get the hell out of the street and you can not "CLAIM!" a parking spot by standing in it.

Only lawn chairs can do that.

To me the SUV had every right to park there and every right to push the big woman out of the way.

Both parties need to move along so that a more deserving person may take the parking spot. What failures at society. What failures at life.
