Officer Dandurand stops couple on way to give birth. Arrests father to be so he misses birth

Happened a few years ago. Seems video is being released now

Cops Hold Couple at Gunpoint for Driving to Hospital to Give Birth, father misses birth

Infuriating Dashcam Video Shows Cops Hold Couple at Gunpoint for Driving to Hospital to Give Birth
A father missed his daughter's birth because cops locked him in jail for driving his pregnant wife to the hospital.

---
As Reiner attempted to explain to Hebron officers Anthony Dandurand and Travis Thomas that his wife was about to give birth to a baby and that he was on the phone with dispatch, they had nothing of it.

“I will shoot you, you piece of s—! Get on the ground!” yells Dandurand as he points his gun at the distressed couple.

Reiner, in an exercise of futility, continues to plead with the officers to communicate that his wife is in labor. But this effort is to no avail. As Dandurand rushes up to the panicked father to be, he smashes the submissive man’s head into the pavement.

On the other side of the car is officer Thomas, who is holding Dana Reiner at gunpoint as she screams that her water has broken, and she needs to get to the hospital.

----
Prior to the ambulance showing up, these stellar public servants were busy taunting a father to be with jail time. According to the couple, when they pleaded with the officer to help them, Dandurand replied, “You will be in jail tonight, and you will not be there when your child is born.”

-----

These maniacs nearly caused the death of an infant because of their jackboot tactics and disregard for civil rights. One would obviously assume that they’ve both been fired, right?

Wrong.

According to Portage Police Chief Troy Willians, Dandurand, who now serves as a K-9 officer, has been a model officer since joining the department in June 2012, five months after the Hebron incident.

“Officer Dandurand should not be demonized for one unfortunate incident in which several factors played into the outcome,” Williams said.

After the couple explained the situation, Dandurand reportedly told James: "You will be in jail tonight, and you will not be there when your child is born."

When Dana got out of the car to show the police that her water broke, she recalled a gun laser sight was pointed on her pregnant stomach by Sgt. Travis Thomas, who had arrived at the scene.

Dana recalled that the police told her to "get back in the f------- car."

"I thought, 'OK,'" Dana added. "I'm not going to let them shoot my kid. I got back in the car."

Dandurand and Thomas called an ambulance and made Dana wait for paramedics, who barely got her to the hospital on time in Crown Point, Indiana.

Dana's doctor had to unwrap the umbilical cord from her baby Abigail's neck, and reportedly said the infant would have died if Dana had given birth on the roadside.

TYPICAL policeman bully. who grows up 2 become a policeman? it's *not* the best & the brightest because those people become doctors, scientists, professors, etc. With the exception of those who become a policeman because their dad was one & they want to follow in their footsteps, the typical policeman is a bully who wants to have power over people b/c he's overcompensating for his own shortcomings or he's just a typical bully thug. no one likes them & they don't even know it. i know people who have family members who r cops & they bad mouth them behind their backs b/c the cop acts like an a-hole. no one likes them - & it's for a reason: most r just big stupid bullies with a badge.

Black Americans have been putting up with this BS for a long time and it is now becoming mainstream. This is what happens when we ignore what happens to any group of people, it spreads.

Why don't people ever learn that we must stand up for everyone before it grows? You would think that even aside from the morality of letting anyone suffer, people might realize it may include any of us one day.

I have been using the same rationale at work when people tell me they like Trump. 'Until it is you he is bullying' is my standard reply. So far it has worked like a charm.

Very poor judgment and misplaced anger by cop #1. I think the officer needs to be tested for steroids as his reaction was completely inappropriate.

it's just the advent of camera phones and dash cams that have finally revealed what people have been claiming all along. In the past people would be aghast at such accusations toward the police and would believe the police before the victim. "police never act like that!"

I had a couple of uncles and several friends that were/are cops. Cops have always been like this.

Now we have the proof.

That is the difference.

Nobody else that works for the government in any form is allowed to. When did it become okay for those that are supposed to serve and protect us to be allowed to use foul language while pretending to do so?

Perfect example of how this "nice guy" whom everybody believes is a "good cop" is really a POS. If there was truly a "good cop", this sort of shit would not happen or another cop would immediately arrest the so called "bad cops".

872 Americans have been killed by cops so far in 2015. 12 cops have been charged. There have been no convictions.

There are bad cops and the worse cops they enable.
