Any Chance For The Dems To Pick Up Boehner's Vacated Seat In Ohio?.....

what is the process? Does the Governor appoint someone to take over Boehner's seat or is there some sort of election? Does Boehner's term end in Nov anyway? Do the Dems have a strong or for that matter any candidate that can enter a race for that seat?

Some states fill a vacant seat by appointment, some by a special election, some leave it vacant until next House election. IDK what Ohio does. IDK what demographics of his district are, but Ohio is pretty conservative outside the cities (Cleveland, Cincinnati, etc.)

It never stays vacant unless the election is near. Vacant Senate seats are appointed by the governor, but not House seats.

Even when his replacement is up for election, the district is unwinnable. Almost entirely rural, with Springfield (18% black population) thrown in to negate the minority vote.
