(2,273 posts)I have friends that always end up with zucchinis they let grow too long and I don't mind taking them off their hands since they bake well.

(8,646 posts)Last year was the first year I had grown zucchini successfully. I let them get that big. They were delicious. Not spongy at all.
So this year I let them go that long. BIG mistake.
The only difference is last year was a wet year, and this year was a dry year.
This year, they will be made into bread LOL.

(80,708 posts)I had a batch one year that got that size, and all I could use them for was home defense, or softball.
I guess if you can get them there and still have them be good, it's like a food bonanza.
