A Virginia police officer is under investigation for Tasering a black man during a stop without provocation, WUSA9 is reporting.

In a video posted to Facebook, that officer can be seen aiming his Taser at the man and instructing him to turn around and place his hands on the police cruiser.

Once the man complies, the officer then Tasers him, causing him to scream and crumple to the ground as the officer stands over him still aiming his weapon and yelling at him to roll over.

An onlooker can be heard yelling at the cop, “What’d you do that for?”

According to the man who shot the video, the cop had no reason to use his weapon.

39. First, I think we should legalize drugs so we can get out of policing that business.

Then we should get rid of police patrols. Firefighters and EMTs don't drive around looking for fires and injured people, so police shouldn't drive around looking for crime.

Then we should replace normal police officers with social workers with body guards. The social worker does talking, and the guard is there if things get rough. Both the social workers and the guards are to record all interactions with the public, with a few exceptions, such as talking to an informant. We would still have emergency police, such as SWAT, but they wouldn't go out to most calls.

This would be just a start.

I have to say that the fact that they weren't insufferable pricks was due to the fact that their leaders insistently ran a professional PD instead. That they chose not to put incompetent officers on the street. That their main focus was not to generate revenue, but to serve the community instead.

It's been my observation that the cops in Fairfax Country are not any of these things.

Those guys have always been assholes, unlike the cops in Arlington, where I used to live back then.

That was quite a few years ago and things may have changed for the worst all over. But, I'm not going to sit here and claim that all cops are bad, even if far too many of them are.

My MO to is regard ALL cops as potential assholes, unless they immediately prove otherwise. And, lo and behold, some of them actually prove me wrong.

I recently had my car at a garage and an off-duty cop pulling a boat on a trailer accidentally damaged it. He left his contact information and paid for the repair. He was extremely cooperative and apologetic. I looked him up on line and found he had received a policeman of the year award. Seems he helped an elderly lady who had been injured in a robbery. She was hospitalized. He went back to her home and got her personal items and took them to her in the hospital, where he visited her daily, until she was released. He still visits her weekly as she has no family to look after her. I believe this is a cop with a kind heart.

Weird to hear the girl news announcer stress that the victim 'APPEARED' to be complying, and then the police spokeswoman bullsh*t for a while, and then concede that well, yes, it does look serious (or some such), and that's why it's being looked into.

The French reckon Americans are like children - not all necessarily a bad thing in a jaded, old world - but with these police, it's like Lord of the Flies.
