(4,728 posts)I was a stepdad until my daughter's biological father agreed to give up his parental rights so that I could adopt her. My lawyer told me that he signed the papers so fast that the pen was smoking. My wife and I split up, but I'll always have my daughter. I walked her down the aisle on her wedding day. Yeah, I cried.

I wonder why dad went back. Did he see the love for step daughter on step dad's face on the way down the aisle? Had he a secret plan to include step dad that he never told anyone about?
No matter. It was a wonderful gesture, and the entire family will never forget it. Good job, Dad!

(2,560 posts)The mother doesn't walk down the aisle, so she would have been standing with her now husband. So, proximity might suggests she is the mother. She looks pretty amazed.
All this is based on nothing but my imagination.
But it was a wonderful gesture.
