Another idiotic job creator.
Honestly, is there some sort of brain damage that happens to most people in the 1% club?
Poor mouthing it, taking pay and benefits from employees to "save the business" and then bragging about all the world travel you have planned with your college buddies?
BRAIN DAMAGE !!
So here's the deal. For those of you with the stomach to wade through.
First a disclaimer - I'll admit there was a time when I thought the 1%er that owns my job was better than most. The longer I work there I'm realizing he's just another stone cold dumbass lucky enough born on 3rd base.
Now on to the joyous drama ...........
Bossman decides he needs to whittle away at the labor costs because that 30% pay cut we took almost 5 years ago and never saw a dime back is just not enough 'shared sacrifice'. So he tells the one guy in the organization that brings in an absolute crapload of business that they can't afford to pay him commissions anymore. So the guy decides to get a 2nd job and therefore can no longer spend 70 -100 hrs at the office closing deals.
Bossman starts belittling the best moneymaker we have for poor sales in front of the entire business. This guy takes it for 3 months before he bolts to start his own thing. No hard feelings he says in a meeting announcing his resignation. He says it's obvious the business simply can't afford him that's all. Turned out great for him, he's making double what he ever made with us.
Bossman has to find some desperate soul that can bring in a crapload of business for the pittance he's willing to pay. Problem is all of them have quit within the first month because pay is far too low for the time, stress and expertise required to do what's expected. Bossman keeps having to up the anti. Now he's offering much higher than what the proven employee wanted and still can't find anyone willing to put even half as much into it. The current one was let go today because he's a creeper with an apparent inability to refrain from grabbing warehouse worker's butts.
So before I leave today said Bossman has had a couple glasses of wine and for whatever reason decides to unload his financial frustrations on me - why doesn't anyone want to work anymore. The unemployed like sitting home all day getting paid by HIS tax money to watch the TV all day. Maybe he should cruise the Home Depot for someone who want a job Americans won't do. blabber blabber blabber.
I've heard the economy is picking up in Atlanta. No idea if the grass is really greener someplace else but if there's any chance of getting this particular brain damaged 1%er out of my life it might be worth taking the chance.

I worked for one back in the mid-nineties, total asshole. Still avoid Coke products like the plague.
