and proving the damages is necessary in any and every civil action - is going to be exceedingly difficult. Proving any damages beyond the money they paid for the outing will be a steep hill to climb. No physical injuries or property damage, no impairment of employment/finances. No jury in its right mind would ever award punitives in anything like that amount.

Proof of damages is where a lot of lawsuits founder in my experience clerking for judges. You can claim whatever amount you want, but the court system is going to make you prove it.

and try to rebuild their reputation. The fact that the CEO apologized profusely and said the blame was all on the staff would go far toward proving the case. If there was not culpability there would have been no need for an apology.

I for one am glad the ladies sued. That'll stop them from pulling that sh_t again.
