Norman Ornstein has been on TV about a zillion times over the years, but he says they have been pushing hard to get on TV to promote this book with no luck. Until now, I guess.

"Norm in the USA! Norm in the USA!" as an introduction, until finally Ornstein told him to knock it off which Al politely did. Al did a very loud and very bad Springsteen...

Al also used to refer to Ornstein as the "smartest person in Washington," a high honor coming from Franken...

Who in the popular media wants to look like a total chump? They've been peddling their "both sides do it" line for so long, they don't even think about it anymore, and inviting someone on who is credible, has a good command of the facts, and presents well is like a garlic necklace to a vampire.

He likes to talk about when he was in Congress and he kept trying to talk about the "extreme left" but he pretty much had his ass handed to him. Very nice to watch. Too bad Mika is too intimidated to do that every day. Same with Willie and the worthless Mark Halperin.

I'd love to know what goes through the minds of the others at the table, "Oh no, there he goes again with the same old tired stories."

Ah the nineties when Joe and Newt joined forces with President Clinton and saved the world! Pay no attention to the impeachment hearings over there - that was just a little prank.

Republicans are so funny. They take credit for everything they did, everything the Democrats did, and a bunch of stuff they just made up, kind of like most of the fantasy Reagan administration.

Joe is a Bully of the highest order.

I've noticed that they were "trying" to "balance" a few months ago but now it is full steam ahead for Romney.

Mica is afraid to say anything., so are the others.

MJ must have received the $$$$ from the Big Boys that he could not resist and he many have given hisLap Dogs a few pennies.

During the primaries, Joe was actually very reasonable for the most part and was extremely critical of the republican candidates. Then he woke up one morning and was emanating profuse love for Romney. It was not subtle change at all.

I don't think he believes half of what he says, because his humanity actually leaks out now and then.

But Joe knew he couldn't get into an argument on the merits with them, particularly Ornstein, who is a true intellectual. That's why Joe just gave his smarmy smile and mumbled "well, I don't agree..." If he had tried to argue with Ornstein, he would have been put away fast by Ornstein's impressive intellect...

...that when Newt and the Repubs took over Congress in January 1995, Bill Clinton's program had already cut the deficit by 40% on the way to a balanced budget. They did it without a single Republican vote. Joe Scarborough likes to credit the Repubs with the balanced budget but they voted unanimously against the Clinton plan AND they proved they had nothing to do with it as soon as Bush became President and started running up the debt and deficit once again. Them's the facts, folks.
