Afghanistan yesterday, Afghanistan today, Afghanistan tomorrow, Afghanistan forever.

No conquering force has ever subdued Afganistan in 5,000 years of recorded history, so why would we assume the U.S. Would be any different? Today President Obama announced we would not draw down troops in Afghanistan as expected. Duh.

If we ever end our failed occupation there, we will not leave a stable democracy behind. So what’s the point? Why not admit the reality of the situation and get out of there already?
