Roger Ailes says there's only one conservative at Faux "news," the rest are liberals...

"Liberals" compared to neo-nazis, maybe.
Otherwise as always Ailes is full of it.

Ailes' Whopper: Fox News Employs 1 Conservative, 24 Liberals

May 25, 2012 11:35 am ET by Eric Boehlert

Ailes made the head-scratching pronouncement during two recent campus lectures. The first came at the University of North Carolina [emphasis added]:

Well, first, I separate out news from programming. If you're talking about programming, we noticed that all the talk shows on the other networks basically had progressive or liberal talk show hosts. We have one conservative on FOX News, Sean Hannity. Quite open about it, that's what he is, that's what he does, that's his framework, that's where he comes from. Others tend to be libertarians or populists or you can't really tell.

Last week, according to reports from Ailes' lecture at Ohio University, the Fox chairman boasted about the array of progressives he employs:

Ailes defended his network, saying he was not politically biased compared with competitors MSNBC and CNN. Ailes said he employs 24 "liberals," which distinguishes him from those networks who feature fewer dissenting opinions.

You could come up with quite a few that way, but the othe networks invite conservatives on also. He really is just stating the obvious. Then again, some here may not think Juan Williams or Beckel are liberal at all, but Alan Colmes probably passes the lib mustard test.

a regressive or a reactionary can be folded into "liberal". Rock rib conservative like Goldwater or William F. Buckley naturally are liberals as are Reaganites like John McShame.
By altering how they define the political spectrum it allows Eisenhower type cons like Clinton and Obama to be called communist which essentially is far left as you can be which in turn results in the them being the new fringe left which of course eliminates anything or anyone further left from them from the possible spectrum.

They are all about framing, which is why "meeting them in the middle" is always worse than fool's gold. Every such effort shrinks the practical political spectrum on the left and expands it to the right putting us into a societal suicide spin.

This is EXACTLY what they're doing and have been doing for a while now. This type of Faux Noise "relativism" in political identification is why you have people on here claiming to be "leftists" when they believe in Reagan's policies. Of course it's bullshit in any historical or even current world wide scale, but it's useful for them because it DOES allow them to frame anybody futher to the left of O'Riely as a "communist" or a "socialist".

Of course it COULD backfire if it leads some people to actually read about and study REAL left positions. They'll probably find out that what they believe is closer to the true left position than to the proto fascist positions of Roger Ailes.

I pray some actually drill down the half a millimeter it takes to unwind this nonsense too but too many "think" they know and there is no bigger fool than a human that thinks it has all the answers and people are so pressed to keep the home fires going and living their lives that few will.

Sadly, it seems to be going the other way since folks that once knew better are becoming more conditioned to silly season.
