In reality, the Democrats only fully control seven state governments, and only have even partial sway over 12 more. That's just 19 out of 50 states. That means the GOP dominates elections in over half of our states. And with the Republican tendency to engage in election fraud, it would be foolish for the Democratic Party to rest on its laurels.
This is the result of four years with Debbie Wasserman Schultz as Chair of the Democratic National Committee . She took over from Tim Kaine in 2011, after his program, "Organizing for America" not only failed to expand Democratic control, but handed control to the Republicans. However, instead of reversing Kaine's work, she effectively solidified his programs and tactics. The end result is that while in 2009, the Democrats had solid control over a sizable portion of state governments and both houses of Congress, their numbers have since dwindled dramatically.
And the program which Kaine replaced was the one put forth by Howard Dean in 2005, the 50 state strategy. The strategy Dean pioneered landed control of both houses of congress to the Democrats, and landed a scrawny black kid from Chicago with a funny name in the White House. His strategy worked beyond just the federal level as well, landing Democratic control in states which had been previously Republican strongholds, such as Montana. In other words, despite the DNC leadership's objections, going full-tilt in all 50 states (instead of focusing mainly on battleground states) was a rousing success. In fact, Dean's program was so successful that none other than Karl Rove was pushing for the GOP to engage with their own version.
Yet, for some reason, the Democrats have abandoned a strategy that works for one that keeps failing over and over again.

Yes, this is quite disturbing, esp. how our own Democratic party "leaders" have totally sold us out

How DWS is still heading up the DNC after all these debacles is beyond me. Certainly we can do better.

AND these same DINOs are STILL running the DNC, and pushing Clinton
as the "inevitable" nominee, with dirty-tricks and rigging the debates.
What's going on here has become painfully apparent, to pretty much
anyone who can fog a mirror, yet it GOES ON LARGELY UNCHALLENGED.
BERNIE, BECAUSE FUCK THIS SHIT!
