He talked about the phone call he received on that December day when his wife and daughter were killed and then he gave them hope re that horrific black hole into which people plunge after losing a loved one. That was so moving.

(2,563 posts)I'd always thought of VP Biden as something like comic relief...until I saw that. It reminded me of some of the things Lincoln said when agonizing over the casualties on both sides during the Civil War while worrying about his own enlisted son and close friends.
Mr. Biden is now on my List of Very Good People.

I must admit I have such a soft spot in my heart for him anyway because I've known the tragic story of his young family and how he cared for his boys. Going home every single night on the train to be with them. What a great dad and a wonderful man.
