Might be jumping the gun on this, but multiple outlets are reporting it, so it's apparently true. If so, this is fantastic!!! Congratulations Caitlyn, and congratulations on your courage!!
Four months after Caitlyn Jenner introduced herself to the world in the pages of Vanity Fair, the 65-year-old is set to appear on another highly-publicized cover: Glamour's Woman of the Year issue!
The TV show The Doctors is reporting that the former Olympian was involved in a top secret photoshoot for the mag. A spokesperson for the publication did not confirm nor deny the report, but revealed that all honorees will be announced on Nov. 3.

(6,960 posts)That is all this is ... the corporate entertainment industry will exploit any person and any social issue out of sheer greed.
That's all it is.

(1,883 posts)but I think honoring her is about as bad as honoring Trump. She's rich and has made statements against poor people and welfare. She considers herself a conservative republican and all but told Ellen she's a homophobe. Not my cup of tea regardless of gender.

(63,221 posts)Seriously, like a typical republican, has she ever done anything for anyone besides herself? I really don't see why she is considered so special. People who aren't famous do this all the time, without the support of the media and hollywood.

(24,326 posts)about whomever Glamour Magazine might select as their Woman of the Year, I earnestly entreat you to come to my house, obtain one of my guns (I'll even unlock the gun safe for you), and put me out of my misery.

(1,858 posts)I have no problem with what she did, good for her. I also have no problem calling her actions courageous. Having that that, changing ones gender is something millions of people do. I do find it hard to believe that they can't find another woman who has done more for society this year than her, but that is the magazine's decision. They can say whatever they want.

(7,596 posts)Cait Jenner is a useless attention whore who hasn't done anything for anyone. The fact that she's transgendered has absolutely nothing to do with why people like myself detest her. Is it not possible for a transgender person to be a shitty human being just like anyone else is capable of being a shitty human being?

(37,748 posts)I agree. The dog whistles are so clear and so loud these days as to be considered just whistling. Jenner is red-meat to that crowd.

(56,177 posts)and Jenner...clear and loud is right.

(7,596 posts)Nothing "clear and loud" here other than your lack of logic.

(18,775 posts)What has she done for women apart from being able to afford plastic surgery?
Here would be a better Woman of the Year:

Or her:

People who actually contribute something.
I'd vote many times over for either Malala or Liz Warren. Better role models for anyone, male or female, I can't imagine.
