(9,114 posts)a memorial to peace, and militarized it. The WWI vets didn't want 'The War to End All Wars' to happen again.
Separate issue: do you remember when Poppy bush was campaigning (9-7-88) and told his audience that September 7 was the anniversary of Pearl Harbor? Strange mistake for a Pacific theater WWII 'hero' to make. Previously, he had twice mislabeled Memorial Day, at the Kennebunkport Memorial Day event (5-30-88), as 'Veterans Day'.
+1 to your post for the correction Sirv, and +1 to the o.p. I just chimed in for the opportunity to bash the oil nazis.

(65,616 posts)in a foxhole! It is TIME to let women fully move into direct combat roles (they already are). Enough with this combat support crap, I've known women that were tougher then the kevlar vest they had on! They could outshoot me and probably outfight me in hand to hand combat!
To all the active and retired military professional women - I salute you!
