Otherwise I may have forgotten to chase that down!

(1,314 posts)We lived in JeffCo until 9/29 when we moved to upstate central New York. We were sad not to vote, but hopefully confident that our many friends in the Foothills south of Denver were properly horrified at the mean-spirited conservative school board majority so much so that they would vote in droves. I will be interested to see Colorado's voting turnout numbers.

(1,314 posts)Quite a change. Pretty "red" up here, and I have counted more Confederate flags than I ever did in Colorado. Lots of Amish. Rains. Humidity. Fleas. But it is beautiful. The Fall foliage comes in magentas and oranges and shocking pink. Oswego, the town, just elected a 25 year old Republican mayor, Billy Barlow. Cheaper than Colorado, but the job situation is bleak. Republicans win by claiming, like Bush did, that lowering taxes on businesses increased revenues and the voters eat it up.

(1,314 posts)But I have to tell you, the rain so far has been warm (I was dumbfounded by that!) and there are snowmobile signs on the auxiliary roads and lots of fishing at the Salmon River. We lived in Conifer Meadows and had livestock, so we always had to keep the horse trailer hooked up to the truck just in case we got a Reverse 911 call. No wildfires here. Winter only lasts three months instead of nine. Looking forward to growing tomatoes. Just an hour south of Canada.
