Fox Lake Cop: Did They Discuss Gunshot Residue On Either Of His Hands?......

Did they comment on which hand he held the gun in and actually shot himself?

I would think the gun residue would be a telltale sign - yet I don't believe they commented on that.

The way the gun landed on the ground. This is standard stuff, yet no doubt for a long time they thought he was shot by criminals. It probably wasn't until the various agencies compared notes, that they noticed something fishy.

Cops don't run off by themselves let alone in a 3 on 1 situation.

black and white suspects. If he did this, could he have radioed in a "shots fired" call to explain the residue on his hand? However, wouldn't forensics run a ballistics test on the round, if they found one?

I know everything isn't as fast and easy like they show on CSI or NCIS, but I am assuming that they would have an up to date lab in Chicago... then again, look at the backlog of rape untested rape kits in cities like LA, NYC, Detroit, etc., and it makes you wonder... but I also think that it being one of their own killed, they would cut no corners.

Could it be that they knew, yet tried to keep it covered up for the sake of his wife and kid?? If so, whoever is responsible should have to answer for it, but the poor widow will probably have to repay any life insurance settlement and the pension money she's received! I feel bad for her and the child...

Peace,

Ghost
