If youve ever wondered why survivors of sexual assault so rarely report the crimes, look no further than the quaint little town of Dearborn, Missouri. The tight-knit community of 496 people spread across less than a square mile in many ways brings to mind simpler times. Unfortunately, it seems as though that aura has cultivated a mob of simple minds who believe the faithful are incapable of horrendous acts even when theyve admitted to it.
It just gets more and more disgusting. With the thousands upon thousands of kits never tested, underreporting and shaming like this, it's another one of those terrible tragedies made worse. It's hidden yet in plain sight to those with eyes open just enough.

And I wonder if sexual abuse is quite prevalent in that town... so much so that they resent the young victim for bringing attention to the problem.
