Police Forces Now The Tool Of The 1%

It is looking more and more like the police forces are the tool of the 1% to suppress dissent. It will be a crime to question the motives and the actions of the "uber" rich. The aggressive attacks on OWS and the focus of Homeland Security on anyone who wants to protest about inequality in our system if the arrival of the police state.

We are not far from the conditions that existed in Germany before Hitler took power. The "New Aristocracy" does not have a title but they might as well. "King Kochs" and their ilk will not tolerate any dissent and they are willing to buy a government that will enforce their will.

The police are now kind of serving that purpose, as these subversive groups did in Germany. Their design is to intimidate others into not protesting.

To me the threat of a huge fine is enough, and prison time, or worse, getting hit in the head with a teargas canister.

I like that line in Gangs of New York "When the poor riot, you can always hire the other half to repress them," or something like that.

security there is very different since 9/11. I am 150% supportive of the OWS movement, but I can understand the concerns of the police dept., especially for the safety and protection of large numbers of people and property in the "canyons" of Wall Street.

This must be a nightmare for Bloomberg .

You claim you support OWS but understand the 'concerns' of the cops. The cops are ONLY concerned about the property of the 1%. The cops are a tool of the corporate heads.

So WHICH is it? Do you support OWS or do you support the fascist police?

But back then there were a few reporters that reported the truth...and that is why we know about it.
Today no reporter dare touch it...it would be the kiss of death for the career. And the country is ignorant of it because of that.

the police don't make the law.

I think the attack on free speech comes from higher on the corporate totem pole. While handing the 1% an amplifier for their unregulated "speech", lobbies like ALEC petition our reps for laws that squelch dissent in the interest of "keeping civil peace" and maintaining business as usual.

That is to say, while it's true that some law enforcement officers go well beyond the call of duty in many cases, I believe Congress and even the judicial branch do a fine job of covering their asses.

Germany was a parliamentary democracy with proportional representation, where the Presdient (Hindenburg) appointed a Chancellor (Hitler).

I think we're much closer to feudal Europe where each wealthy aristocrat (like Mayor Bloomburg of New York City) organized, armed and provisioned his own private militia. Think the Medicis, not the Nazis.

What is the point? No, they are not the "tools" of anyone. You make it look like OWS has no point but to try to prove they can't do what they are doing, which is protest. If they are arrested they have access to the courts.

What are they trying to do anyway? Just become victims of the cops? That's not going to convince Joe and Jane Average, in huge numbers, to start "the revolution." Crazy.
