(11,076 posts)He is a tea bagging sun of a gun. First year in office he cut all budgets, schools included and municipalities had to make up the difference. The citizens of Ohio had to pick up the mess and pay at home. Before he came into office he tried to bilk millions from retirement accounts to line his own pockets. He sold us to the frackers and Ohioans pay to clean up the mess. When he came to office he stopped legislation to clean up the deadly blue green algae on Lake Erie saying it was caused by just a few bad apples and now six years later he proposes that the taxpayers clean up the mess by paying additional taxes. He gave the profits from the State liquor sales to a privatized board that was supposed to create jobs. Jobs Ohio, check it out. His original plan was to hire a man from California to run it. That man's salary was to be one dollar. Do you see anything fishy there? In addition to this the jobs board is an unauditable entity, run by a private board with State tax dollars! In the meantime the city of Toledo had to shut off all city water causing hospitals to cancel all procedures. The lake is a disaster that didn't wait to happen! This man ....is not to be trusted!

(67,112 posts)Thanks very much for educating folks on Kasich. He's done as much damage to his state as Walker has done to Wisconsin - just with a more "reasonable"-seeming veneer.

(20,885 posts)He has knack for sounding moderate. My wingnut friends think he sounds like Jon Huntsman. He's not.

(56,582 posts)I'd rather run against any of the other candidates.
He can appear normal but once in office demeans people with his words and picks their pockets clean. Not a good feeling. Ohioans have suffered! He was only re elected because the Ohio Dems had no one to run. The committee put up a candidate that came with his own video tape and I don't mean the good kind. It makes my heart stop when I hear anyone on the national level even think that Kasick might be a viable candidate!

(11,076 posts)DeWine is a defrocked Senator playing the role of SOS now. The ballots went through the RNC computers on the last known heist so it is anyone's guess how things will roll. The rethugs seem content to run imbeciles, no offense to imbeciles, which makes we wonder how they expect to win without help. We still have the Diebold machines that the Dem SOS deemed easily hackable and yet vacated office without correcting the problem. Life goes on.....and the nation's elections are dependent on the outcome.

(36,437 posts)I think he has a chance to pull it out. The GOP field is going to be a mess until after Super Tuesday. No telling who might emerge from the Battle Royal, but it won't be Trump or Carson. My money's on Kasich, Rubio, or even Bush pulling out of the tailspin when people actually step into a booth.

(16,104 posts)Kasich actually became incomprehensible at one point, caught and couldn't get out!
Trump and Carson just double-down on their generally outlandish positions.
Rubio is mouthing a script, and often stumbles over his lines.
Christie is toast. Already on the undercard.
The one who stands out again is Cruz. He is the insider-outsider who is a real conservative on policy, and he is a true believer.
If this election is going to be about Democratic 3rd-term 'status quo' (in some sense) and Republican disgruntled, betrayed 'change,' Cruz is the one to watch. He has got the cred, the record, the PAC money, and the rap to give Republicans a real alternative vision and contrast to the Democratic candidate.
This is shaping up to be a 'heart and soul' election.
Will the "great ship of state" which is America steer Left or Right?

(10,107 posts)He comes across and has the rep of a "reasonable moderate". Nothing moderate about him and a typical repug woman-hater too. Of all the possible candidates he's the biggest threat IMO.
