George W. Bush surprises veterans visiting the Bush Center

A group of veterans were in for quite a surprise Tuesday while touring the George W. Bush Presidential Center.

As the group toured the Oval Office exhibit on Veteran’s Day, former President George W. Bush made a surprise entrance, speaking and taking pictures with the group of veterans.

“One of the things I’m dedicated to, for the rest of my life, is helping vets,” Bush said. “I miss saluting those who wear the uniform. And the reason why is after we got attacked on 9/11, I made it clear that we were going to defend ourselves and millions of people volunteered, not thousands but millions, such as you all.”

The former president has made veteran’s well-being and their re-entry into society one of the Bush Institute’s priorities. The institute hosts two annual events — the Warrior Open and a companion event and the Warrior 100K mountain bike ride — to honor the veterans and encourage them to incorporate sports into their recovery.

1. Ugh. The last person I'd ever want to see as a veteran of Iraq or Afghanistan.

3. They sort of asked for it by being there. That is the LAST place I'd visit.

I'm agreed.

7. There are few things that bother me more on TV than seeing him appear

at some Wounded Warrior event, where you have all these guys with missing limbs or some other debilitating disability, and he's just bopping around with a big smile on his puss, completely oblivious to all of the suffering his actions so clearly caused.

And then we realize that we've been literally reduced to having bake sales for these guys, just to give them the means to live the rest of their lives with some sense of dignity.

9. Me too. It makes me want to vomit.

And his supporters who still prop up "the troops" but not really. Meanwhile, a man older than his father is out building houses.

5. Why were they even there?

You have to have serious issues of self to walk into a building dedicated to that piece of shit.

11. The Luckiest Guy On Earth Who Should Be In Jail strikes again.

Seriously, why isn't his whole administration in prison? Wouldn't starting a war based on vaporware get most people locked up?
