Wicked and dangerous winter weather at the lookout tower

I'll start here in GD. But from now on I'll post news-type photos here and artsy photos in the photo group.

Below are photos of the hell winter weather that hit me the first three days in the fire lookout (5/23 - 5/26). It really sucked.

I'm in Bend thawing out.

An exceptionally strong high pressure system anchored over the central U.S. is bringing record-smashing May heat to much of the country this Memorial Day weekend. Dozens of daily high temperature records fell on Saturday, including several all-time records for the month of May. . . . As is often the case when one portion of the country is experiencing record heat, the other half is seeing unusually cool conditions, due to a large kink in the jet stream. Billings, Montana received 1.3" of snow Saturday, and Great Falls had received 2.3" as of 6 am this morning.

Welcome back, to you and Nick!

It's hard to relate to all that snow as I recover from a 93 degree high temp today. Stay warm.

give me the green mountains of western Virginny any day.

But, yeah, this totally screwn weather is, by no means, a sign of climate change.

What was the snowpack this year?

and take them with me and attach to my clipboard.

When it gets too hot outside and I feel like bitching, just gonna flip through the clipboard and take a gander and remember that it could be worse...

Those pics have lowered the temp in my room by 20 degrees!

Stay safe, DemoTex and thanks for sharing this year's adventures.
