"ISIS hits and the right goes wobbly"

This editorial is from the extremely conservative newspaper The Arizona Republic. Even they are appalled by the Right's cowardice.

http://www.azcentral.com/story/opinion/editorial/2015/11/18/isis-paris-syria-refugees/75980774/
snip:
A terror army sends a strike force to Paris to drive a dagger into the heart of Western Europe and liberal democracy. It attacks restaurants, a theater, a bar and soccer stadium, killing 129 civilians and leaving a proud nation numb with grief.

And in America, the conservative party reacts how?

It rolls up its sleeves with cold resolve and vows to crush the Islamic State.

No.

It runs shrieking to the doors with padlocks to keep any bad guys away from us.

To misquote Churchill: we will not fight them on the beaches, we will not fight them in the streets, rather we will keep out the most vulnerable members of a war torn society. We shall completely surrender...our values.

" Any ISIS mercenary who would submit himself to this security equivalent of a root canal is probably too stupid to do much damage once in country. There are 10,000 easier ways to get into America, beginning with our southern border."

The ones who claim France was attacked because of it's gun control laws and that if only the French people involved had guns, things would have been different.

Remember Jost et al 2003, Political conservatism as motivated social cognition?

It was much about how fear drives conservatives.
