Coal industry paid astroturfers $50 to wear pro-coal t-shirts at EPA hearing

In Chicago and Washington Thursday, the Environmental Protection Agency held the first of its hearings on a carbon pollution standard for new power plants. The coal industry, which objected to standards curtailing mercury and other toxic emissions imposed on power plants earlier this year by the EPA, decided to show "grassroots" support in opposition to the proposed standard. So it put the above ad on Craigslist seeking people to attend the hearing wearing a t-shirt "in support of an energy project." No mention of coal.

And the more money you have, the more who will hear what you have to say. Works especially great with governmint. Undemocratic as hell, but, again...

Quantity over Quality and Substance and Truth must pay good.

One question is: Who on earth would be EVIL enough to do such a thing?

They're always driven to talk more about gay sex than most gay people.

They are All Man. Things of men are on their minds constantly.

Men working on their cars. Men chopping wood. Men digging ditches. Men playing ball. Men hosing themselves down...

...maybe shirtless... ...with a friend... ...on a hot day... ...washing the sweat of manly things off of each other...

Posted an article that said a study showed that many homophobes were actually gay. This guy had been a regular for years on that forum but as soon as that article was posted, he went away and has not come back.

And Rex Sinquefield (millionaire conservative activist) did this in MO as well. He sent African American families to state senate hearings on school choice wearing matching t-shirts. Each family was paid and given a free ride to the capital as well as lunch. And all they had to do was take their kids out of school for a day and put a silly t-shirt on them.
