Right now, there are likely to be one or more Attack Submarines

shadowing the Moskva, ready to sink her on command. Will she be attacked id she engages NATO aircraft?

Here's a little flashback from the Falklands War, circa 1982:

We have fast attack subs shadowing all their capital ships as we did in the Cold War and they shadow ours. It's a big cat and mouse game.

Huge topic of discussion at our family reunions since we have about equal numbers of ex submariners and surface ship veterans in our family.

The book "Blind Mans Bluff" paints an accurate picture of what goes on.

The submariner relatives start talking about their Cold War experiences. Sounds like a few more chapters could be added.

But I bet Russia has a few fast attacks hanging around for good measure and getting a sound signature.

May prove to come in handy.
