4. The Family Taking The Offer

I don't think they knew what they had. The city was willing to pay $5 Million right off the bat. No lawsuit threat or anything. Just imagine what they would have paid had the family really pushed them.

The city CLEARLY hoped to sweep it under the rug, especially after the family said they did not want the video released. That was the clincher, and the city likely felt it would just go away, and the family would not make a big deal of it once they had their settlement.

I know it's not about the money, but I bet anything the family would have received much more if they had held out.

If this came out during the run-up to the election Chuey Garcia would be our Mayor now.

This was clearly to be swept under the rug. If it wasn't for the judge saying that the video needed to be released we wouldn't be hearing anything about this.

They suppressed the video. They erased Burger King's video. They paid $5 mil hush money to the family. This was all just going to go away.

Look at how fast they charged this cop with 1st degree murder after they knew the video needed to be made public.

I don't believe Rahm one iota saying he never saw the video. They had to make a $5 mil settlement from city funds that is on the verge of bankruptcy. If he didn't check out the video and just allowed the payment - that would be negligent. Seeing the video and saying he didn't is just perpetuating a coverup. The citizens of Chicago need to demand his resignation.
