What are you thankful for on this Thanksgiving?

I'm thankful for my health and the health of my family and the fact that we're able to be clothed, fed and sheltered in such a cruel, cruel world.

I'm also very thankful that I also won't have to deal with any crazy right wing nut job family members on Thanksgiving, because I DON'T HAVE ANY!

Happy Thanksgiving, everybody and GO LIONS!

Which, even if it won't lift me above the poverty line on income, has gotten me fairly close to it for the last couple of months, and looks likely to last at least a few more months, making this possibly my best year for income since Obama got into office, with the possibility of an even better total next year.

Thankful that some friends have finally started working on collecting what they need to build a permanent home, instead of living out of an ancient RV.

Thankful for the thousands of folks out protesting, who have FINALLY started to force the media and politicians to begin to pay attention to fascist police being allowed to simply assault and kill civilians without any fear of penalty. (That 'finally' is about people paying attention, not the protesters, who have been hard at work for a LOOONG time.)

And, in a twisted way, I'm thankful that the Republicans seem hellbent on destroying any chance they might have of taking the White House, and instead are doing everything they can to nominate a completely unelectable clown.

Every day you have health is a good day. I'm just recovering from a chronic illness, and it's like I just got a second chance at life.

And no R's in my family either. Yay.

-to be able to attend a 4-year university, and to not have much concerns besides going to class.
-for my family and I to be still alive and well despite coming from a rough neighborhood.
-to be better off than my ancestors.
-to be disease-free (well, except for my asthma).
-to have a source of income.
-to have food and shelter.
-for technology.
-for the creation of Pokemon.
-for online dating.
-for clean air and water compared to other parts of the world.
-that CA doesn't have a Republican governor or majorities in the Legislature.
-that this country doesn't have a Republican president, and that their advantage in elections is gradually dwindling.
-to have basic rights in the Constitution.
-the Raiders, A's, and Warriors haven't moved (yet).
-to be physically-fit.
-to have at least 1 friend despite being shy and not going out much.

healthy, well-fed, clothed, and warm. The republican members will be taunted with humor and laughter, which they will gracefully accept while getting in a few good-natured digs of their own. We never, ever have heated discussions. The teenagers will probably try my patience, but I love them too dearly to lose it.

My best wishes to you and yours, MrScorpio.
