Wow. PETA employs some sick, sick people.

http://wjtv.com/2015/11/25/virginia-family-suing-peta-after-worker-stole-dog-from-front-porch-had-dog-euthanized/

The 11-page lawsuit alleges trespassing and emotional distress. Court documents said that on the day Maya was taken from the home in Parksley, the family bought her a pillow at the store, but came back and couldn’t find her. After Maya was killed, PETA representatives came to the Zarate home with a fruit basket, according to the lawsuit. The paperwork said once Zarate’s daughter learned the bad news, she cried for weeks and lost sleep and weight.

“They’ve lost a member of their family, as anybody who has a dearly beloved pet understands, they’re a member of your family,” Shewmake said.

PETA said residents in that area had asked for help with abandoned dogs. The state later fined PETA $500 because it failed to keep the dog alive for the amount of time required by law.

Messages left for PETA were not returned Tuesday.

So PETA is evil when a doofus screws up while companies that dominate the market and have all sorts of documented torture and of course simple killing for fat human faces are a-fing-ok.

Doggy killed "oh noes!"; millions of cows and chickens and pigs? "Fuck yeah yummy".

The hypocracy blows my mind. Fuckers oe and all.

run no-kill shelters - NOT PETA!
I think they are hypocrites as in the time they released a lot of minks (or similar animals) so they roamed neighborhoods and killed other animals there such as cats and dogs.

PETA said earlier this year that the person responsible for Maya’s death was immediately suspended and later fired. The organization also made changes to its practices, at the request of a state agency. No charges were ever filed in the case.

Sorry. If you're a kill shelter, you absolutely should not turn down people simply because the animal will be left alone during working hours. PETA does. I'm sick of them.

Why were they taking dogs off of this family's porch to begin with?

There's no "correct response" there. They are sadistic murderers. Period.

I understand that PETA can't be explicitly outlawed, but every single person who supports it should be vocally and loudly shamed any time they appear in public.

Their whole philosophy is that animals ate better off dead. They euthanize animals as soon as they come in and they really got into trouble for calling themselves a shelter because they are not. They are just a huge killing station. They take animals from shelters saying they will find homes and then they take them out to the van and kill them. They take animals from people's yards. Sick, sick bunch of people.

Just another huge ego trip at the animal'S expense.

They need to be shut down and sued into oblivion.

PETA in general does not have any shelters.
As for sick I will never forget the story about PETA in North Carolina that would pick up pets when called then put them in a black truck and park it in the sun to kill them.

I'm a pet sitter and you really have to watch out for some people who call themselves rescuers. They like to think of themselves as these big noble heroes. But it's just a huge ego trip for them. The animals they "save" usually end up dead.

I have run into two or three people who claimed they were animal rescuers but I began to realize they weren't quite right in the head. Single people don't have the resources you need to take care of animals. They don't have the money or the facilities. They end up with a house full of animals they can't afford to take care of right.

It's bad for the animals.
