Waffle House waitress shot, killed after telling customer not to smoke

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Spazito (a host of the General Discussion forum).

Investigators say an argument erupted when a waitress told a customer he couldn't smoke inside the restaurant. Johnny Mount, 45, refused to put out his cigarette, pulled out a handgun he had concealed under his shirt, and shot the woman once in the head.

Is this a "Good Waitress with a Gun" scenario?

The prevalence of guns in this society makes this shit so easy and commonplace. I'm sick of it.

because many crimes are commited by gun users who are first time users of guns to kill people. Would it end all crime? No, of course not. But many of them are legal gun owners. Many of them may be legal to carry concealed weapons.

We still don't have a way to handle mentally ill gun owners, or men who abuse/kill wives. Many of these have been threatening but have no record and can still own a weapon or carry concealed.

The fewer guns we have, the fewer crimes and accidents we have. It's pretty simple, really.

Fri Nov 27, 2015, 09:02 PM
Nov 2015

If laws do not change the behavior of people, why do we have them?

Does the fact that it is illegal to steal a car prevent a criminal from doing so? Of course not. But if someone does steal a car and gets caught, then they can be put in jail, in an attempt to prevent them from stealing more cars.

The same logic applies here. But for some reason, there are a group of people that seem to feel that when it comes to guns, we must let the lawbreakers run the show.
