I am Democratic election judge in the red Zone, and met with my R judge tonight to set the poll up.
It was OK.She and her spouse ,me and my kid, and my alternate and her spouse set the booths up,mutually hand wrung, and agreed that we all wanted to "look good"...hence no crap ballots/election signs,et al.
We'll probably have all of 200 show up...199 R's and one D in this district.
It'll be a long day.........wish me luck(and that I keep my mouth appropriately shut)

(7,572 posts)Even fewer than usual D's will be voting in primary here, because there is a hot sheriff's race on the Repub. ticket. (No Dem local offices at all to vote for, so a lot of D's will vote for one of the sheriff choices on R. ticket.) I think some of them voted for Michelle Bachman for a laugh!

(15,936 posts)I'm excited and anxious at the same time. My hubby agreed to be my Alternate Judge and recruited a lady I met back in 08.
I have worked several elections with my counterparts and they usually are helpful if and when I need it. This is only my second time to be the Election Judge, I'm usually only the Alternate Judge, hence my nervousness.
It should be an interesting day considering voter turnout could be very slow. This year's elections are soooooo f'upd because of the other side wrecking havoc with our elections. Hopefully their turnout will be even slower because they already have a nominee and they didn't get to have a say in it.
If you haven't seen a sample ballot you should check it out. ALL the candidates for their team is on the ballot with the exception of Perry Also check out their resolutions, hooboy they are very telling.
GOOD LUCK

(145,148 posts)We are doing split primaries. My counterpart and I set put the legs on the voting machines Friday night and will be doing the rest of the set up tomorrow. We have five machines allocated to the Democrats and the Republicans have 8 machines.
This will be the first time that I served as an election judge. I am usually running our voter protection operations.
