When something goes wrong, they want to be John Wayne, and take their gun and make things right (in their mind).

Ingrained mass murder.

Our society.

Make them use knives I say.....

It is time to have the conversation.

Americans obviously can't handle deadly weapons.

Anyone with half a brain can see it.

Dec 2015

"you're too stupid and angry to do what you want, no less own guns, I know better than you, please vote for me?"

Good luck with that.

Thankfully, the Democratic Party is not so incredibly foolish as to run on a "ban all guns and melt them down" platform, no less insulting voters' intelligence, that would ensure we would be sent to the political wilderness for generations.

While you ponder new and radical ways to destroy the electability of Democrats across the country, you might want to refresh your memory concerning the actual, and far more moderate, Democratic Party Platform on firearms.

https://www.democrats.org/party-platform

Firearms. We recognize that the individual right to bear arms is an important part of the American tradition, and we will preserve Americans' Second Amendment right to own and use firearms. We believe that the right to own firearms is subject to reasonable regulation. We understand the terrible consequences of gun violence; it serves as a reminder that life is fragile, and our time here is limited and precious. We believe in an honest, open national conversation about firearms. We can focus on effective enforcement of existing laws, especially strengthening our background check system, and we can work together to enact commonsense improvements—like reinstating the assault weapons ban and closing the gun show loophole—so that guns do not fall into the hands of those irresponsible, law-breaking few.

People in rural areas respect them as tools, nothing more, for hunting for meat, keeping predators away from stock, and bears out of the garbage. NM has had family shootings. ND and WY are bristling with guns and have had no mass murders.

Whatever it is, the second amendment should be scrapped and gun laws turned over to the states. Either that or liability insurance needs to be required, cheap for the rural "get the job done" guns with limited fire power and expensive for the semi auto, large magazine guns favored by paranoid suburbanites and mass murderers.

Something has to be done. I know I'm not alone in being sick of every oaf with a screw loose being able to get a gun. Rights have to be balanced with responsibility and that's just not happening with guns.

Thu Dec 3, 2015, 12:48 AM

Half this country is crazy.

They watch Fox News, and listen to Rush, and think up is down, and Jesus would cut food stamps. They think the world is 6,000 years old, and Reagan was a saint. They think trickle down worked, and cutting taxes for billionaires creates jobs. They think illegal immigration is America's #1 problem, and climate change isn't happening.

The list goes on for about a thousand miles.

In fact they don't think. They just repeat what they heard on Fox. That way they never need to use their brains.

Its just a matter of how many losses of innocents they are willing to shed and how long they want the country be shut down when there are waves of mass shootings like we've never seen before.

Either they're going to get sick of it and come to the table with some common sense solutions or the American people are going to get sick of their arrogance and cavalier attitudes and take their toys away.

No matter what, they lose when the people are forced to choose between mom and dad getting killed in another mass shooting or billy bob having the right to play with his AR-15.
