I am going to make a prediction about Muslim Americans.

For many years I have watched the Christian Right mutter about the trend in U.S. prisons for PoC and some others to turn to Islam while incarcerated. I have ALWAYS thought that eventually this would be used to incite fear and loathing.

How long until this sentiment on the right breaks out into open fearmongering and scapegoating? Soon, I suspect.

He is precisely who I had in mind when I wrote the OP. He has written (well, he's dead now) about the religious right and their fear of Islam generated in prisons.

I think if we encouraged incarserated people to be atheist they would come out of prison with a stronger sense of ethics and better understanding of the world.

he was born in France and became a naturalized US citizen in 2001. His mother was French-Albanian can't find his religion anywhere.
So I may be wrong about him being Muslim.

I could be wrong however, but could not find anything on it.

Regardless... Muslims die just as easily as Christians do in service of their country.

As do Atheists

Etc...
