Actor James Cromwell escorted from event for heckling award given to energy company

Actor James Cromwell was one of two people escorted from an upstate New York business event for protesting an award given to an energy company.

The Times Herald-Record of Middletown reports (http://bit.ly/1SyXr1F ) that the 75-year-old actor whose work includes "Babe" and "L.A. Confidential" was removed from the Tuesday night event in New Windsor when he and Pramilla Malick began heckling the award presented to CPV Valley Energy Center.

Cromwell and Malick say the company's natural gas-fired electricity plant being built in a nearby town is a dangerous polluter threatening the environment and the people living there. Cromwell lives in an adjacent town.

Cromwell was nominated for an Academy Award for best supporting actor for 1995's "Babe," which ends with his farmer character telling the film's porcine star, "That'll do, pig. That'll do."

Stretch Cunningham in All in the Family, The sadistic deputy James Garner beats the shit out of in Tank. The corrupt police captain in L.A. Confidential.

He is one of the essential character actors who time and again create memorable characters.

Myself I like Zeframe Cochrane a lot even if he does spell his last name wrong. My name is the same without the 'e' so I figure my mythical grandson must change to the other (wrong) spelling to dissociate himself from his disreputable grandfather.

Archie delivers the eulogy and only when he gets to the funeral does he find out his friend was jewish. Probably one of the top ten episodes.

Cromwell wasn't in that one of course but he did appear 3 or 4 times before they killed him off.

Never watched a Star Trek film and never plan to. Mainly because their obnoxious fans have to point out every asshole who played some guy in the background like its important info.
