I am currently reading the complete works of Arthur Conan Doyle. I am not sure the name of the story, but I do remember one that referenced Mormons. I just finished a sort story that referenced the Klu Klux Klan. I do not have it with me right now, but I could look it up in about 4 hours.

in its portrayal of the Avenging Angels. They existed, and kept close discipline via harsh means, but were probably less lethal and certainly had less reach than in the story.

I suppose I should go back and fill in that gap, but at the time it had no real bearing on the actual mystery, which had been solved by that point in the story.

Certainly. I've read it many times. The Mormon interlude is as described by others -- it's not kind to them.

I'm also a proud owner of a Baring-Gould "Annotated Sherlock Holmes".
