I cannot in good conscience vote for Tom Barrett on Tuesday.

Mostly because it would be a double vote. I just got back from voting absentee-in-person with my wife. Then we went to pick up Barrett & Obama yard signs for our neighbor. Our yard signs have been up for a while.

They are out of signs for our State Senate recall candidate, Kristen Dexter, so our neighbor didn't get one.

While at the Dems office, my wife signed up for phone banking on Sunday & Tuesday. I'm already signed up for Saturday & will probably also do a stint on Monday.

That's high.

Everyone is saying they expect a 65% turnout.

That may turn out to be a gross underestimate. I'm betting 70% of registered voters. Maybe 72%.

Remember that although Republicans are as energized as Dems in this one, the Dems had a lousy turnout in 2010 & the Republicans came out with everything they had. That is, a strong R turnout beat a weak D turnout. This time the Dems are as engaged as the Republicans, so I'm betting a strong Dem turnout will beat a strong R turnout.

Those get counted right away yeah?

I am so worried about that recall. Really hope Barrett wins. I know my FIL is voting for Barrett. Just saw this horrible blog entry though:

I really cannot stand libertarians and their ugly attitude against unions.

Lose this recall vote, then it is sayonara for unions and Dems nationwide. Whatever happens in Wis on Tuesday does not effect me at all, but all working people, union or not will suffer great consequences if Walker and his ilk win. I cannot comprehend the ignorance of the voting population who continue to fall for all the lies of the Republican party and continue to vote against their best interests. Sad for the country......

God, you scared the hell out of me...

Humor is good for the soul and breaks up the tension - and things ARE tense.

I'm driving up from Illinois on Saturday to knock on doors in Madison 'cause I'm thinking that the Recall is a really B*F*D.

I doing what I can - but you Wisconsinites have GOT to do your part.

Bring it.

Give it to us.

We NEED it.

I hope this is only the beginning of good things happening in the USA. Colin Powell has been talking about the ability of Reagan and others being able to sit down and work out the differences but we do not seem to have those resourceful people in the proper positions. Be strong and continue to work for what is right not what is might. Vote and get other Democrats out to vote also.
