Rolling in there, Graves?
How do those people (ppl? pipple?) get dressed in the morning. Thank heaven for Hush Puppies; they'd be there all day trying to figure out which way the bunny runs around the tree again.

(53,661 posts)This is why the Dittoheads are cutting off their own nose to spite their faces. By enacting these broad injunctions against others, they endanger themselves as populations change.
Our freedom of religion can't be based on just one, or it will discriminate against all others. Including her version if others outnumber hers.
Excellent find, thanks Swede.

(6,261 posts)Every country on earth thinks God is with them. The SS had the logo "Gott mit uns" (God with us). That should be enough for anybody.
Can you imagine any country on earth having the slogan "Even though God is with the US, He likes us second best" ?
The Heer branch of the Wehrmacht wore that on their buckle, which had been worn by Germanic armies (Prussian, Bavarian, etc) for a few decades. The various branches of the SS wore one that roughly said "my honor is called loyalty."
And please remember that in that war, the few people who created war on each side was a cheerleader for the same God to kill young kids. Yankees, Brits, French, Italians, Japanese, Russians, Latvians, Polish, et al all prayed for their side. Like a goddamn football match. Interestingly enough, that Bastard God upstairs listened to all and made sure there was enough death and destruction to answer all their prayers.

(18,625 posts)The apostle Paul taught that we are no longer under the Law. Period.
The verses are Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13. First, Thou shalt not lie with a man, as with a woman: it is abomination. Second, If a man lie with a man, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
There is, however, a big problem with quoting Leviticus. The problem is that Christians are no longer under the Law. We do not live our Christian life by following the Old Testament Law. The Apostle Paul makes this abundantly clear. It is not something fabricated to win an argument, or made up in the twentieth century, or manufactured to get around something somebody doesnt like. It is clearly stated in the Greek scriptures. The Apostle Paul wrote it in Galatians:
All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law. (Galatians 3:10)
If we rely on following the Law (the Torah, the first five books of the Bible) we are under a curse. The passage above, Galatians 3:10, contains a quote from the Law itself, Deuteronomy 27:26. According to Pauls statement below, things have changed.
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law by becoming a curse for us. (Galatians 3:13)
It was Jesus death on the cross that rescued us from the curse of the Law. If we insist on following the Law and imposing the Law on others, we negate the cross of Christ, and repudiate Christs death on the cross.
