(113 posts)So sorry for your family. Getting a cancer diagnosis is so scary and overwhelming. i wish you all strength and hope. Please consider encouraging your sister to join a cancer support group. They can be a very valuable resource.

(31,997 posts)she asked me to take her to the neighboring state so she could see her grandson one more time. Her car isn't good enough to drive themselves.

(654 posts)chemo area. They are scared, and I don't blame them. But all us long timers are cracking jokes and telling stories and it helps to welcome someone new to what is going to be a rough trip but with lots of friends helping.

My best to your sister.
Visit the Cancer Support Group. Lots of wonderful people who will listen and who know what it is like to have cancer or to be the loved one of someone with cancer.

(11,175 posts)In 2000, my oncologist told me that, just a few decades earlier, the treatment for what I had consisted of giving the patient morphine to ease his final days.
I'm still here.
The armamentarium against cancer is greater than it's ever been. May your sister join the growing ranks of survivors.
