Looking For His Head? Bibi To Undergo Colonoscopy

Israeli Prime Minister Bejamin Netanyahu will undergo a colonoscopy on Friday morning, and during the brief procedure Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon will be acting prime minister, Netanyahu's office announced on Thursday.

Netanyahu will be under anesthesia for about 30 minutes, the statement said, calling the procedure “routine.”

The statement said that Netanyahu last had a colonscopy in 2014, when a polyp was removed which was tested and found to be benign. Friday's test is a follow-up to the previous one. Netanyahu also had a benign polyp removed from his colon in 2008.

The premier will be accompanied by his personal physician, Zvi Berkowitz.
