when did DWS inform Hillary, O'Malley Webb and Chafee of this security problem. Seems to me she would have had an ethical responsibility to inform all the candidates of this problem in a timely manner.

(10,860 posts)They hammer Bernie by going to the media, suspending his campaign's access to their own data and promising an audit.
Last October, when the Sanders campaign had their data breached by another campaign due to a similar loss of security by the software vendor, no leak to media, no loss of access to data by the culprit and no audit.
Two campaigns. Same thing happens to each. Two very different outcomes.
Smells bad.
Let's just schedule the rest of the DNC debates for Saturday night so nobody finds out and be done with it!

Why is this vendor still in place, with so many problems they blend into one another? That's the question of the day.

This may be just a coincidence, but it sure does seem fishy.
This has a foul smell about it. But I am willing to shut up about that.
One of two things happen.
1. Both campaigns drop the issue. DNC restores access to the Sanders campaign. The security of the VAN is increased. There is an independent and quiet audit of the VAN software. The issue goes away and we get a Democrat in the White House in 2016.
2. Blow this shit up into a huge brouhaha, with both campaigns screaming at each other, making accusations, filing suits, investigations, audits, etc, extending well into primary season (which IMHO does not start until Jan 1). Maybe Trey Gowdy can get into the mix, too. And we get Trump, or somebody just as worse in the White House in 2016.
I am willing to opt for #1.
