(13,297 posts)On Sat Dec 19, 2015, 08:56 PM an alert was sent on the following post:
He made a site some time ago, but hasn't been active of late.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=7460740
REASON FOR ALERT
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
Encouraging other DUers to go to the site of a person who has been banned directly by the board owner for TOS violations.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Sat Dec 19, 2015, 09:04 PM, and the Jury voted 0-7 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No comment needed... alerter needs to re-evaluate their priorities
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Let people decide for themselves.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: What??? WTF is wrong with you for alerting this? Geez, the banning isn't enough for you? I'm just hearing about the ban now as I got on this jury immediately after coming to the site. But this alert is just plain stupid.
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Oh Lord. Grow up.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Alerter needs to get a life, muy pronto.
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I don't see the problem; the post is not suggesting that anyone quit DU.
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

It's one reason i think the jury system works. Most of us can just overrule the silliness.

Well. Hm.
So, why would it matter that other DUers went to a different site that was owned by someone who was banned here? And, how did the post alerted on actually encourage anything?
That's really something, now.
We're getting a leeeettle confused in some quarters, methinks.

(4,558 posts)But if you do, then by all means.
I'm anti-Bernie, I think he's a false democrat. He's disingenuous at best, an outright liar at worse (can now add thief to that list). He's making promises that there isn't even a potential 2016 115th congress that will even come close to supporting his policies. He will either be the Veto king, and the most ineffectual president in history, or he will learn to compromise and tick off his devoted.
All that said, if he does take the nomination.. I'll vote for him.. my money and phone banking and canvassing time will go to more deserving Senators in battleground campaigns, but he will get my vote on election day. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't get what Hillary is all about. After all she is the one who will support her party and her constituency even when she doesn't fully agree with it (not just heckle from the sidelines).

But there will be a point where the masters realize "hey we do not need these Hillary people either" and they will be thrown out with us in the cold. When we see them in the snow, do not let them try to take over what space we have left, that was our mistake when many former GOP stuck into the "big tent" and tried to kick us out. If they want to participate in OUR attempts to take back OUR party and OUR nation, we will tell them "this time, YOU get to be the cannon fodder!"

Everyday I hear "you can't say that", and I know there are those just waiting for us to say what we really think just so they can get off on getting us banned. When I really think about I, it just seems really sick and twisted. This website just isn't as fun as it used to be. Bye Manny. We will miss you. Not that there's a causal relationship between treating your erstwhile customers like shit and losing money, DU has a proud history of busting rabblerousers on weird technicalities (or just calling them "troll" or unwitting tools of the GOP), but it seems like a bad precedent for mgmt to endorse a primary candidate over the wishes of 90% of the DU-voting inclined population, then banning notable Berners for disloyalty to the anointed one before the convention. (Then when crypto-dems do the same thing, Skinner iirc bleats some rationalization about the "heat of the primary season" and everybody does it.) The AtA post about "no, I didn't really mean *underground* like subversive or a diverse range of opinions" really slipped the mask, I thought Skinner did a really good job with the Prime Directive for the first 14 years (notwithstanding the gay purges and whatnot) at least in primary season, I think the Dean purges were mostly self-inflicted (PeopleForChange!) and the pumas posted weird racist shit so that was an easy call, but DU isn't really DU if it's not, like, underground.
