and just about any group that has held power in the past, are all clearly signs of bold and daring character. It takes a lot of courage to drive around America in the most common kind of pick-up in America with an AMERICAN flag on the back, (daring) boldly asserting how powerful rich people should pay less taxes. It takes some serious stones to stand up against the likes of gentle homosexuals, non-gun owners, women, and those who receive welfare: children, the disabled and elderly. Those are some scary groups, and it takes the brave conservative warriors to make a wall between them and billionaires like the Koch brothers, who need tax cuts so they can pour more money into their private shadow armies controlling super-pacs to control the government.

I forgot the sarcasm tag. Its all about fear.

My two cents is to look deep at it, see kind of a universe a person has to live in to seemingly never stand up for any difficult cause. Its not a happy one. To me spiritual strength is in standing up for the HARD causes. But that's just my two cents.

'Them' being anyone who doesn't look like me, talk like me or goes to a different (or no) church than me.

Conservative = got to keep 'them' (blacks, hispanics, women, gays, immigrants, the middle class) down for 'us' (whites, men, straights, native-born, the rich) to move up. They are not big on shared prosperity, shared sacrifice or 'shared' anything else.
