Let's show that people everywhere are united against these treaties that drive a race to the bottom in wages and worker's rights, environmental protection and more. We demand a new paradigm that puts people and planet before profits.
Here are more actions you can take:
1. Join the Buycott for Trade Justice. We are building power to create an economic impact of our own and to put in place an economy that raises standards globally. This will take time to build. The holiday season is a great time to start. Click here for more information and let us know if you want to join the buycott working group. http://www.flushthetpp.org/buycott/
2. Get ready for the president's state of the union address on Jan. 12. We expect a deluge of misinformation about the TPP around the state of the union and we must be prepared to correct it. Become a media mobilizer by clicking here. http://www.flushthetpp.org/tpp-media-mobilizers-call-to-action/
3. Sign and share the petition. We will deliver this petition to leaders in Congress when the time is right. Click here to add your name! http://act.rootsaction.org/p/dia/action3/common/public/?action_KEY=11690
To get involved with organizing actions to stop the TPP/TTIP/TiSA, join the weekly TPP Resistance calls on Wednesday nights at 9 pm Eastern/6 pm Pacific. The next call will be January 6, 2016.

Jim Hightower: The Trans-Pacific Trade Scam
http://www.nationofchange.org/news/2015/12/23/the-trans-pacific-trade-scam/
Through little-known provisions in past trade scams, powerful corporations in other countries have pressured their governments to challenge our laws in similar tribunals.
From Canada to Malaysia, many countries have on behalf of their corporate powers successfully forced Congress and U.S. agencies to weaken or eliminate everything from environmental protections to consumer right-to-know laws.
In fact, this very year, Obamas own administration has been told by the World Trade Organization that it must alter or repeal Americas laws on labeling foreign agricultural products.

(14,255 posts)The younger folks are horrified by it, and I let them know who voted for Fast Track and of course, who traveled the world shilling for it, and called it "the gold standard".
Oh, and no one should think that no one outside of DU or whatever has heard of it. Because the young folks do not get their news spoon-fed to them. And they look stuff up. They don't swallow campaign rhetoric whole, like baby birds.
As always, no votes or support from me for ANYONE who voted for any of this corporate coup, or shilled for it. NO votes or support, and I do talk about it when I am doing my "campaigning" for Bernie. Friends, family, the Jehovah Witness ladies We have a deal - they know I am an atheist, but they can talk about their beliefs, and I talk about Bernie. We have some nice conversations. My grandson talks about Bernie and the TPP at work - lots of voters there. Others are aware.
