Although it may not be one of the mainstream polls, a New Hampshire firm's survey shows that Ohio Gov. John Kasich has moved into third place in the state holding America's first presidential primary in less than seven weeks.
Kasich gets 13 percent in an American Research Group poll of likely primary voters, behind only Donald Trump (21 percent) and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio (15).
Right behind the Ohio governor are New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (12 percent) and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (10 percent).
A third-place finish undoubtedly would be celebrated by the Kasich campaign - especially if they topped fellow "establishment lane" stalwarts Christie and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, who receives only 7 percent. Kasich was sixth in two other recently released polls of the Granite State, although several of the contenders are jumbled in the middle of the pack.

(9,353 posts)He is the most (relatively) sane person running. The party leaders might decided to run with him.
Worried about that prospect.

(38,958 posts)that it would be Kaisich in the #1 or #2 slot. However, time will tell and this could just be the usual media driven "who's up and who's down" horse race BS. I really don't think to much about much of it at this point.

(50,986 posts)are shoving Jeb to the corner, that is when he's not being shoved there by extreme far-right candidates.
If Jeb can't sling the hash in Iowa and New Hampshire, it's hard to see where he does any better in subsequent primaries. His odds to win the GOP nomination look pretty bleak to me.

(48,181 posts)that he is somehow less extreme and more acceptable than other Republicans. On which issues?
As far as I can tell he is a fundamentalist religious loon, a homophobic bigot, a climate denier, opposed to affirmative action, a war hawk, would repeal the ACA, would of course cut taxes for the rich and is against all economic regulation.
So which issues is he a moderate on?

(24,461 posts)But when you're next to the likes of batshit whackjobs like Cruz, Jeb!, tRump, Rubio and Failurina, it's pretty easy to look like a moderate if you just be like Dubya.
One of the first things Kat$hit tried to do as Ohio's governor was to defang unions. He almost went out of his WAY to do it.
Luckily, he failed.

(50,310 posts)In it he's bragging about his attempts to destroy "Obamacare." Apparently, unlike me, he hasn't heard the stories from people who had their lives saved because they could finally access medical care. I remember one cancer patient in particular who was able to get into the pre-existing condition pool when it opened and continue her treatment. Her money had run out and she probably would have been a goner otherwise.
