(32,723 posts)I mean, it's not like the guy doesn't deserve it. You know? He's rich and all but that isn't everything. And look at that hair. He's probably totally bald under that mess on his head. Who knows? It's totally possible.

(10,752 posts)then yes, he is a satirical god of our time. I started reading him when I was in my early 20's and I'm 67 now! He's always been spot on! He's married to Jane Pauley, btw, and I've always liked her because of that fact (trivia, sorry).

(100,133 posts)Some of his story lines are unforgettable. Mark Slackmeyer on the Watergate Hearings, raving: "Guilty, guilty, guilty!" Boopsie on learning the consequences of US bombing of Vietnamese villages included killing their farm animals, "Baby duckies!" Joanie, falling in love with her fellow law-student Andy, and being gently told he is gay, ruefully: "I myself am often cheerful."
I know the man needs a break every so often, but this election season cries out for his keen eye. I'm so glad he is at least writing Sundays.
I was outraged!!!

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
