Ted Cruz: Be afraid. Be very afraid.

IMO, Trump will soon be gone and Senator Ted Cruz will become #1 in the polls.

A senator is someone who is usually respected (for the most part) by his fellow senators. Yet, from everything I've read, the other 99 senators, (Democrats and Republicans), loathe him. As in: His 99 colleagues really hate his guts.

Imagine what it takes for a senator to earn that kind of venom. But in the case of Cruz, it seems to be deserved.

He's well educated, (a Harvard grad), yet his education has taught him nothing about human interaction, empathy, or basic human decency. The man peddles poison like a 19th century huckster selling snake oil. And in the area of religion, he seems to be following in the footsteps of his fundamentalist father. Cruz's religious beliefs seem to be mostly about hatred.

For the past six months, we've been either laughing at, or fearing Donald Trump. But the real danger in this election is Cruz. And it's necessary for everyone to understand this before the GOP establishment shrugs their shoulders and anoints him as their candidate.

Ted Cruz is dangerous because it's conceivable he can be elected president. And imagine what that would mean in terms of his being "The Commander in Chief", not to mention the kind of people he would appoint to the Supreme Court.

We can't let this happen.

If you don't have support of the congress as a whole, how can you be elected? Many in congress go out and support the candidate but if Cruz doesn't have that, it'd be very difficult to win. Rubio is the only Repug to have a chance and thankfully right now he's not even really a factor.

There is absolutely nothing about that man that I find in the least bit laudable, he's a scumbag Dominionist from the ground up and the most dangerous SOB to ever run for the Presidency.

If one's favored Democratic primary contender doesn't make it onto the ticket, then your choice is between the other Democratic contender or someone like Cruz. Even the most hardcore supporter of one Democrat or another must recognize what's at stake here.

Was elected president?

Nixon served in the senate, but he was Vice President for 8 years. A Senator's record is too easy to attack. The republicans run a senator, they lose.

If the republicans want to win the White House, they'll need a governor as their candidate. However, they don't need the executive branch. They've got the government shut down because they'll probably control the House of Representatives for at least a decade because of all the gerrymandering. They know they'll lose the senate in 2016, they don't care.

It's all just a distraction, they know they won't win the White House, but they can keep us from talking about the issues as long as the 'carnival barker' is in the news every day.

Cruz may win the nomination, but he won't win the general election.

From everything I've read, people said that about Reagan and George W.

Somehow, the amiable imbecile named Reagan, won. Twice.

And the total imbecile, George W. occupied the White House twice. (Once through a Supreme Court appointment and the second time, through the theft of the election in Ohio.)

Never say never. Cruz can end up in the White House. And if he does, we are FUBAR. (If you weren't in the army, it means "fucked up beyond all repair.&quot

Executive branch experience is apparently worth something in the minds of republicans. Democrats elected Kennedy and Obama, but republican candidates with only senate experience are merely sacrificial lambs. Dole, McCain - there was never any expectation that they were gonna win.

It's good that Cruz will be next week's front-runner. With 11 months to go before the election, that means there will be a new GOP front runner every week or two. They have the attention span of a grapefruit. Every single one of the clowns in the 2012 car also held the front runner spot -- for a week or so. The sooner they put Nutbag Cruz in the spotlight, the better. One by one the clowns will fall down, spill their buckets of confetti, shoot water from their lapel flowers, and Jeb Bull will be the nominee, as the only "sane" one left.

I've been calling Jeb! the Fredo of the Bush family for months now. If we can make a name like that stick, he's finished. As a matter of fact, I think he's finished already and has no chance of bouncing back.

My advice to Jeb! is to stay out of row boats.

No, he doesn't have the fire. He's "low energy." But he doesn't talk crazy talk. He's not from Canada or Cuba, he's not a lunatic evangelical, he's not a racist hater. Love him or hate him, when all is said and done, he will appear to be the only "reasonable" one left. The media wants the Bush/Clinton showdown. Wall Street and Corporate America will certainly love it.

The general is a long way off. We're still being treated to the opening acts. Just like in 2012. It will be a new front runner every other week until they just settle back on who they wanted in the first place.

Last week someone posted a poll about which R candidate was the most dangerous. I picked Cruz and my reasons were nearly identical to your OP.
He's not selling a product, like Trump. He's a true believer and the craziness that comes out of his mouth is not for effect. He means it.

On Edit: I now recall the poll being about the type of conservative most dangerous. Because i used Cruz as my example, i went with Theocrats, but for the exact reasons as above and in your post.

After the Trump Show, Cruz will look sane to anyone who does not know his background. Fear a brokered convention that might anoint him.

In a general election I think he will have no problem lying in his teeth to make himself appear more palatable to voters -- after all, it will fall into the category of the Noble Lie. He is very hard right wing.

The more people here who wake up and stop savaging Democrats, the better. Democrats are NOT the enemy. Wake the hell up people -- the enemy is right before your eyes, and Cruz is the exemplar.

I'm not afraid of the ted, his big donor, or the GOP this election cycle. I predict a very good year for Democrats who speak truth to fear.

On the other hand, those Democratic candidates who follow the "centrist" is best are toast. The center is dead, has been for a couple of election cycles.
