It Was Nice While It Lasted......

Over the last couple of days the constant 24/7 drone of talking heads and news shows that carry on about the primaries, Trump, the clown car, Hillary & Bernie, wars, terrorism, police shootings, etc - seemed to come to a complete halt while the news show anchors, politicians and talking heads and maybe even terrorists celebrated the holiday.

Today - they are all back with a vengeance.

Isn't it funny how they can carry on - then stop suddenly for a few days - and then start scaring us again.

1. It all started with 24/7 cable coverage, 500 and some channels, and the mega race for ratings.

I used to work with seniors, and they sit glued to the tube...the more lurid and gore, the better they liked it. I didn't realize it (don't own a TV) but guess that's the way of the nation and politics now...you have to do something...anything...to stand out and be noticed.

thing instead of a 24/7 straight news thing.
I don't mind 24 hours news when it is news, but hate it when it is all talking heads I remember turning on Turner CNN to watch snow storm news. They repeated a lot, but interjected news stuff occasionally. So after CNN turned talking head they spun off headline news that was supposed to be the straight news, but that turned into another talking head channel, with the graceless Grace who claims to know the law but has no problem accusing people of murder with little to no evidence.

I haven't watched TV news at home in many years. Now the times I'm subjected to it here and there I just can't get over how really bad it is. It's horrible! Splashy, perky cadence, noisy, extremely shallow and banal. I also can't stand the teaser BS as they try to lure you to watch via provocative questions.

Anyone who gets "informed" solely through that outlet is an ignorant jackass. It's worse than being uninformed: They're mal-informed.

My thoughts go with those caught at the mercy of the weather.
