Where does Donald Trump fit on the Republican political scale ??

Is he a liberal Republican or is he a conservative Republican or is he somewhere else on the scale?

For example, he came out with a tweet this morning and criticized Trey Gowdy, a highly-respected conservative, over his handling of the Benghazi Committee.

It's all politics with The Donald. Now he is attempting to tear down Hillary with personal attacks, just like he did with several of his Republican opponents. He believes he can harken back to the sexcapades of Bill Clinton and it will bring down Hillary in the polls. Whether or not that will work is yet to be seen?

No, he is part of the oligarchy in a back door way.

Donald Trump is a narcissist and a person with zero class, he is proof why capitalism is broken and is a complete failure.

He also is doing all this as part of a plan he and Bill Clinton had a while back, where they agreed that if the teaparty took control of America they would completely destroy the system that wealthy, privileged people like Donald and Bill rely on.

And to some extent the the system all of us here at DU rely on.

Knowing that the teaparty are complete morons, incapable of washing a car properly let alone running an economy and nation, they planned this whole thing to make sure there would be a 3 way race in November , thus guaranteeing the WH to Hillary.

(or Bernie, wouldnt that be a hoot)

He will cut the taxes of the 1%. He will not regulate them. I don't agree that he will do anything that Wall Street does not like.

Bernie will do the opposite of Trump's proposals. The oligarchy hates Bernie. They do not hate the Donald.

Trump believes only in Trump. He isn't really a Republican or even a conservative (although he says a lot of things many conservatives agree with). He's an egomaniac whose only "platform" will be whatever results in more publicity and more power for himself. But if he has one real talent it's marketing. He knows that there's an audience out there consisting mostly of ignorant, scared white guys who'll eat up the crazy stuff he's selling. A perfect demagogue, he has figured out the fears and prejudices of his target audience and that's what he's feeding them. He knocks other politicians in the ways that will best appeal to those people, regardless of ideology.
